4/28- Option 1 (Danielle, Miranda, & Caitlyn)

Option 1 is about the fight to stop genocide. Genocide is the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group. "The United States must not shrink its responsiblitiy as a superpower to defend the rights of the helpless." (Genocide Book) The United States is a very powerful, and rich country, helping countries that are less fortunate should be a top priority. Genocide is inhumane and should be stopped at once. For an example, jewish people went though genocide for many years during the Holocaust. Over 6,000,000 jews were killed during the Holocaust all because they were different. Genocide causes heartbreak, humiliation, seperation of families, and even worse, death. "Nearly fourty million individuals were killed in genocides throughout the twentieth century." Even though genocide has not completely stopped, people all around the world including the United States is working to prevent genocide all around the world.
