4/28-Option 2 ( Eric, Sol, Phillip, James )

Option 2 is about genocide and how other nations can help to stop it. The great majority of nations agree that genocide must not be allowed to happen.
This option explains what we should and can do to stop genocide with the help of other nations, such as The United Nations because the strength of the “UN is the best hope for peace stability and justice in the World”.
“United States and other countries should do is encourage international campaign to prevent
and stop genocide by making it one of the highest priorities of the united nations”
“The united nations is the world’s best hope of resolving international problems”.
Arguments for stopping genocide ---- Share the cost of helping to prevent genocide.
Making prevention of genocide a priority.
But with pros there comes cons such as ----- The UN operates to slowly and inefficiently
There are too many political divisions on the UN Security Council.

(The Genocide Booklet)

4-28 option 4 (Haruka,Ashley,Brittany)

Genocide is a sad fact of human nature. there were alot of genocides in the past and there are more coming. It's not real to think that the U.S can stop it all. The first thing we must do is to make our country stronger and safe. We all can speak out against genocide and we should encourage allies to do the same,if something would have risked the U.S to break apart that's when we would have to take action. Risking people's lives and spending money on things to try to prevent genocide is not a good idea. Especially if it's not on our own country.

4/28- Option 3(Dita, Chico, Maggie & Alexis)

State Sovereignty is a legal principle that U.S states have the right to prevent the application of programs and reglulations of the Federal government. So therefore we must reconginze the peace and stability of the world is best serverd by respecting the principles of State Sovereignty. People must follow the territorial integrity meaning that other people should stay off others property. "It is the principle under international law that nation-states should not attempt to promote secessionist movements or to promote border changes in other nations-states." (Internet/Google) "The genicide booklet is saying that other countries affairs will only set us up for disasters in the future." (Genicide Booklet)

4/28- Option 1 (Danielle, Miranda, & Caitlyn)

Option 1 is about the fight to stop genocide. Genocide is the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group. "The United States must not shrink its responsiblitiy as a superpower to defend the rights of the helpless." (Genocide Book) The United States is a very powerful, and rich country, helping countries that are less fortunate should be a top priority. Genocide is inhumane and should be stopped at once. For an example, jewish people went though genocide for many years during the Holocaust. Over 6,000,000 jews were killed during the Holocaust all because they were different. Genocide causes heartbreak, humiliation, seperation of families, and even worse, death. "Nearly fourty million individuals were killed in genocides throughout the twentieth century." Even though genocide has not completely stopped, people all around the world including the United States is working to prevent genocide all around the world.

If you use any words from the Genocide Booklet, you must use quotes and insert the page number (3), like we do when we write our MLA papers! Do not write in first or second person (no I, me, you, your, we, etc). You may not use any other source but this booklet, blog, and dictionary.com!

If you are absent, you do this on your own by checking out a book etc and getting caught up!

I DO NOT WANT ANY OPINIONS IN HERE. FYI- These positions will be very important and available when you are TYPING your double spaced expository four or five paragraph essay on ONE the four options you are in favor of TOMORROW.
